Saturday was the big day for 6 children,  they were divided up between 2 boats, "Kipper" skippered by Guy Hayes, and "Sheikharra" skippered by Peter Kimber.

There were 6 children on Guy's boat and four on Peter's

They went out over high water for a couple of hours, drifting with feathers for mackerel by Southend  pier. A few mackerel were caught and some shads, i.e. horse mackerel.

2 children on "Sheirkharra" and 1 child on "Kipper caught two fish each and were equal first in the competition , which won them a fishing rod and reel each, and a fourth rod and reel was raffled among the remaining children.

The rods, reels and feathers were purchased for the club by Ryan Lynch from Rory at Southend Angling centre at a specially discounted price, thankyou to Ryan and Rory.
