Basil Black

I got your email address from the
website and attach for your interest a picture of me taken at the old boat
house in January 1963.
The creek behind is covered in ice and this weather lasted from early
January to the beginning of March.
It caused problems with some of the clinker built wooden boats that were
laid up in mud berths, the water in the timbers froze, expanded, and
stretched the copper fastenings.
When it thawed the ice melted but the timbers were still frozen and it
took a week or so to for the wood to thaw out and expand.
Regards
Basil Black
