New Shower and Changing Facilities at the Island
Yacht Club
The construction of our new Shower Block is well under
way. The cost of the ground work and foundation was met by the club
but the major cost of the construction and interior decoration and
furnishings, which is £22,330, is being met by a funding from Essex
County Council’s Community Initiative Fund (Youth).
All our thanks should go to Essex County Council and
the Judging Panel for providing us with this very generous grant by
deciding our project was a worthy one.
Also, all our thanks should go to our members who are
giving up their own time to help in the construction of the shower
block and therefore cutting the labour cost so that the maximum can be
spent on a high standard of fittings and making it as energy efficient as
possible.
